FDA established the Portal to serve as a dedicated and exclusive way for importers to submit all documentation relevant to such FSVP records electronically to FDA.<\/p>\n<h2>FDA Opens Industry Portal for FSVP Records Submission<\/h2>\n<p>The Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) for U.S. Food Importers, established by FDA based on the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), requires importers to perform certain risk-based activities to verify that their foreign suppliers produce, process, package, or intervene in the food chain in accordance with <a href=\"https:\/\/demos-global.com\/en\/food-safety\/\">U.S. food safety standards<\/a>. FDA inspects these records at importers&#8217; physical locations in the U.S., although they may also require them electronically or through other means that allow for prompt delivery of the records.<\/p>\n<div id=\"exacc_O8hSYYTwMY2yUoeTpMgL25\" class=\"iDjcJe IX9Lgd wwB5gf\">\n<h2 id=\"exacc_O8hSYYTwMY2yUoeTpMgL38\" class=\"iDjcJe IX9Lgd wwB5gf\">Do Importers Need FDA Registration?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p>Importers with an active FDA account and password can access the Portal on the FDA Unified Registration and Listing System (FURLS)* page. Importers who do not have an account can create one from the FURLS page.
